Handmade Living Magazine
It has been a crazy, frantic couple of weeks and today I woke up happy that I’ll have a day for myself. Between working the markets, meeting with customers, making beauty products and the Manx Food and Drink Festival, my schedule has been absolutely slammed. I’m usually quite a busy person anyway but staying up until midnight making bath bombs and lip balms is generally not how I like to spend my Sundays. It’s on the run-up to Christmas that I’m learning more than ever how much hard work it is to start up a small business, especially when you’re trying to do everything yourself. I enjoy it though and am looking forward to my holiday events and bookings.
Besides all of the other things I’ve been working on, a bit of exciting news I have today is that I’ve been putting some material together for Handmade Living magazine. They contacted me a couple of weeks ago to see if I’d be interested in featuring in their ‘Beautiful Blog’ piece in the January issue. Yes please!
You may or may not have heard of this glossy before but it’s a lovely publication with all sorts of articles ranging from crafting, cooking, gardening and sewing; even the adverts are brilliant. The January issue will be out towards the end of November so maybe pick it up while you’re doing your Sainsbury’s shop or browsing around WH Smith. It will be available across Britain and I’m offering a special gift for readers who purchase from my Folksy shop.
I’m still enjoying my morning coffee but all of the things on my to-do list are rolling around in my mind. The weather report tells me that it might just clear up this afternoon so I think I’ll head up to the allotment, where I have a lot of work waiting for me. It’s a bit damp at the moment but I’ve got to take advantage of a free afternoon when it comes around.

Note: While I add bath and beauty related posts to my shop’s blog, you can find my full blog and posts at this link: Lovely Greens. It’s there that I blog about my honeybees, hens, allotment, preserving and cooking, and my making of bath and beauty products.
